My Goals - The "Bucket List"

As I was re-reading my older blogs, I rediscovered my Life Goals which I jotted down in my journal back when I graduated high school in 2001.  It was fun to see myself and my dreams for life back then, even more so... it has been amazing to see just how many I have already fulfilled without even planing!  Now that is an accomplishment, when one forgets what their own goals were, and yet still lives them out with out even trying...  ~_^

Goals for Morria's Life

New (as of 2014):
  • Never stop growing closer to God.
  • Live a more natural, sustainable, eco-friendly lifestyle.
  • Uncluttered, dehoard, and empty baggage from home, life, and soul!
  • Rediscover biking, and go on bicycling trips!
  • Explore Thailand and/or India...
  • Settle down in New Mexico or Arizona!

Old (from 2001):
  • Find my journey-task or journey-tasks. (different ones for different phases of life)
  • Have and keep 5 close friends. (Working on this one... have 2 -3 long distance ones?)
  • Swim in the Ocean, if possible all 7 Seas...
  • Explore New Orleans more than once!
  • Explore Phoenix. (Currently living there!)
  • Explore Seattle, Portland, and Coos Bay!
  • Travel to ALL 50 states! (Alaska, Hawaii, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Georgia, South Carolina, and Florida left!)
  • See as much of the World outside the USA as possible. (Been to Canada and Mexico.)
  • Explore Ireland.
  • Live a life of Love, Faith, and Kindness...
  • Live in such a way, that when I pass... many lives will have been forever change... even if I never know how I touched their hearts...

Accomplished (Unplanned and still got done!):
  • Graduate College somewhere. (Stratford - 2003, ISoM - 2007, Stratford - 2015?)
  • Be someones gypsy gal... maybe even their gypsy queen! (I am Robby's Gypsy Queen!)
  • Get Married. (To Robby, December 15, 2007!)
  • Journey Back to Dine Bikeyah (7 times, thus far!)
  • Swim acrossed a lake. (Lake Wildwood, Cornerstone Grounds 2008)

Companions missing...

Some thing is missing on the journey, some of those who have journeyed beside...  Not that all of them have passed, but some's journeys have taken out of each others lives.  Bev and I speak not as much.  Deirdrea and I e-mail.  Lynn and I have not spoken in nearly  15 years.  Matt has vanished.  Rayne and I message now and again.  Rebv and I text and talk now and then...  What has happened to the friends of old?  True, I have my beloved, Robby.  But my heart longs for more friends...

Now as we begin  again in this new place... I wonder, shall I be able to connect with anyone?  Friendships do not come by me easy... and I do try...  "Lord, help me find so true friends for this leg of the journey..."

Lonely Road

It is not easy walking this road.  In fact, it can be very lonely.  Even when you have a good, loving family, if the dont walk this road in the shadowlands, then there is little comfort there.  The strong arms of the Lord are such a comfort, but it is a blessing when friends, brothers and sisters in Christ come and walk along with you. Those friends can be the light God sends to easy the journey.  A brightness in ones day, and ones life.  Not all friends are light bringers, some so called friends are light dimmers.  Those are the ones, which are likely to betray you, stab you in the back, and leave you worse than when you started... yet in good times run to you.   If it seems to good to be true, more than likely it is.  Yet those who come and help when you are down, bind your wounds, and leave you healing, those are those to keep close.

Thank God for true friends for they make the lonely road bearable!

Red Rocks

Red Rocks

Painted purple by the setting sun,
Painted blue by the midnight sky,
Painted red by the daylight,
Such are you, my friends.

Home of pinons,
Home of sheeps,
Home of ruins, long forgotten.
Such are you, my friends.

Standing strong through the ages,
Witness to many phases,
How long will you stand,
my Red Rock friends?

"Bardic Circle"

Today our friends the Grover's hosted a "Bardic Circle".  This weeks theme was Native Drum Circle, Aaron was there for it of course, as were many of our other gypsy, goth, subculture, traveler, and nomadic friends.  As we began to share music, songs, and stories, my heart began to cry.  What are we doing here?  Our hearts for helping other people, maybe living in Dine Bikeyah, but not in the city here.  It hurt to much, but now I realize I cannot put the open road and ministering to fellow outcasts out of my mind or heart.  Tis in there just too deep.

What now?  I dont know what this means for the future... I dont know what roads this means we will go down.  But I do know that it means Chicago is not the end point, but just a stop on the trail...

We are here in Chicago for until at least next August or September, and after that I have even less clue where we shall journey.  God, You have to be in this, because I have no clue what You are up to here...

Journey to Cincinnati

Wow, just wow... We, Robby and I, are on the road to Cincinnati, OH via bus.  As the bus rolled out of the bus station and Wichita fades from view... I wondered, will I ever see you again city of my childhood?  I know most likely I will, but it will never be long term dweller in this city... I think?  We left with little warning as we had to get out before the next round of ice storms... We actually planned to leave last week, but could not pull it off.  It most likely will be a long journey... it was standing room only on the bus between Wichita to Kansas City.  It was about as packed as we headed out to St. Louis too.

So it is, Morria, the Gypsy Gal, heads off to start a life with Robby, her Pirate King... He even calls me his "Gypsy Queen"; so awesome!  The hardest part?  We had to leave nearly everything behind.  Friends, my family, stuff.... but most of all Bella, my black cat.  They wouldn't let me sneak her on the bus...  So it is, we are starting out with just a duffle bag and a carry on backpack each... and yes, my wedding dress is in one of those duffles.  Cincinnati and marriage here we come!

The Road Ahead...

Easy road?  What be it....
Ne'er is my road easy....
Trails and sorrows
Joys and friends.....

Ne'er has been this road easy.
Narrow road! It be mine!

Full of rocks, of sword
Of pain
Yet in the end
A crown be mine
In it's Zion land.

Simplicity.....I have hungered for it for years.....studied books.....and all.....and at last I am beginning to take the steps that way.....I realize I have to be at peace inside.....and no longer needing the decorations and stuff around me....to keep my mind at peace......but that peace comes from within and from God....now with that accomplished....I can begin the decluttering of my stuff.....peacefully.....and with joy in my work.

Wandering Soul

For a friend....

Wandering soul with no name of your own.
Wandering soul so all alone.
You wander to and fro
with no home of your own.

Wandering soul, seek you companions?
Wandering soul, seek ye friends?
Wandering soul, seek ye a name of your own?

Wandering soul, seek ye the new road.
Wandering soul, seek ye the heavenly way.
Wandering soul, open thine heart and thy soul
for many do love thee.

Of Bare Feet and Bicycles...

I am a gypsy of sorts... nothing makes me happier than to dash about with my feet bare.  To splash about in the puddles of a summer thunder storm.  To dance in the rain and feel each drop caress my face. Aye, that is what makes this gypsy goth gal dance.

I long for the open road, just me and my bicycle, "Meg".  If it were up to me, I would set off a crossed country just me, "Meg", and whatever I could fit in a bike trailer.  I would stay at churches, visit friends, and just be free.  Would that I were healthier, so that I might do it!

21 Years...

Well, my 21st birthday rocked.   I went shopping with a few friends.... so I got a cool Nightmare Before Christmas shirt and a "stone" mirror.   I also bought for normal price some chain earrings.   Got a fishnet shirt at JC Penny's for $0.77!!!

I am doing really well at the internship.... it appears that the Upper Room Youth Center is a go.   I will find out for sure at next months conceal meeting.

My health is a mess.   Not so much that I am really that ill.... it is just the crazy spells I have.   Fainting, breathing problems... every joint in my body hurting.   I wish I was stronger... but maybe it is in the weakness I am meant to help another.  Only Iosa knows for sure, and therefore I trust in Him.

God help me through this... please, if be Your will, either heal me now... or show me who I am to aid by in my trials still being faithful to YOU.  Amen.

Good Mood...

I am trying to keep in a good mood...as most likely you can tell.  It is hard some days, for at times I only have enough energy to rest on the couch, read, and talk with friends.   God is helping me.  While I'll never understand why He allows this stuff to happen... I am kinda glad He did.

Nothing like a mystery illness to drive me into His Word and prayer... because that is all I have left to cling to in this life.  My possessions mean little, money means little... the things that matter: friends, family, the Lord, the journey-task.   Those are what in this life that make it matter...

Lay Me Down...

I have slipped back into depression... I have been boarder line for a few months... but I have crossed over now... *la sigh*... well life goes on whether I am depressed or no.
"Lay me down the cold, cold ground, I will stand, will stand my ground."  Once more I feel as if I have let some of my close friends down... I am such a mess... why do you people even care?

My life is a mess... and has been for ages...
I just hit the bottom... and GOD is now rebuilding me...
*la sigh*... should have let HIM sooner.
I have reasons to live... *la sigh*.. I just wish life was easier.

Bad Health...

Things are easing a bit as I realize I have been running from the reality of my mom and grandma's bad health and the news that keeps pouring in over that. My health is not good either, and I have been doing stuff to make it worse, and extra stress is what I don't need... hospitals, doctors, and unknown meds freak me out...

My friends, thank you for your prayers.  I don't know how I would go on with out your prayer support.  True, I am trying to use my limited knowledge of herbs to aid us, but prayer help most of all!

Journey to New Orleans!

So here I am in New Orleans with my new found friends...  Sonnie, Matt, and so many others.  As I sit on the floor of the church on my bed roll drying off, I cant help thinking... "Wow, this is more than I ever imagined!"  I have heard people speaking full Cajun French, eatted mostly Cajun and Creole food, and discovered Cafe Due Mont Ice Coffee.  Even more, I found a "little brother", and a dear friend...

What have I done besides see the sights?  We hosted a VBS at a church in the 9th Ward.  Done street ministry along side voodoo booths, fortune tellers, and tarot card readers.  Talked at length to a practicing druid from Ireland.  Yes, we did take a day to shop at the markets and shops... but that was one day out of 14! And that is also the day it desided to down pour on us... thus why I am sitting here drying off.  LOL!
