Gypsy Soul

Gypsy soul, fettered down by world's cares,
Gypsy soul, battered & broken by pain,
Gypsy soul, tattered & seeking rest.

How long is this road before us?
How long till this path divides?
How long shall this trail be?

This Gypsy longs for a place of rest,
This Gypsy longs for a home to settle,
This Gypsy longs for His peace to remain.

The Journey Begins...

So I find myself on the road again... Life has away of changing when we least expect it.  Life among the Navajo was awesome and I will never forget it.  But it appears that door is closing most likely for good for Robby and me.  No this is not the end of our travels and adventures.  Rather a new door is opening that we were not excepting... where and when it will be, we know not, but we trust Him to show us the path that is set out for us on this new journey-task.

Kentucky Thanksgiving/Christmas

Mom and Dad Nickles moved to Kentucky as planned soon after Robby and I loved to Chicago.  So, as we had to pick which holiday we went home for, we picked Thanksgiving when the roads should be better.  But then this is Greyhound, and we are dealing with Kentucky to Chicago... so who knows?

This is to be both our family Thanksgiving  and our Christmas, so we have to make the most of it... And what fun we are having.  We ate the roast beasts (turkey and ham)! We helped put up the tree at their new place.  We exchanged gifts.  And now we are just enjoying family.  It is good to have a break.

Good-Bye To Summer and BABR!

So, summer is over... I hate to see it gone.  Our bags are packed.  Tomorrow we get on the bus to head back to Knoxville, and from there a big question mark.  We dont know what is in store after summer.  This summer has had such purpose, such focus.  Our life after BABR is nothing but a question mark.  Not that I have minded... living each day focusing on the campers that has been awesome.  Now though, it is back to the "real" world so to speak.

In the morning we get on the bus to start our over 36 hr (not counting layovers) trip home.  Or at least, that was how long the trip here took... After staying put most of 2 months, it is going to be good to stretch these wings and start moving again.  Wonder where the road will take us next?

Grandmother's Passing

*sobs hard*  My grandma went home to be with the Lord today.   She was the last of my grandparents.  Now all the elders are gone.  I miss her so much.  I went into my room and rubbed her lotion on my arms, for her skin always smelled of it.  It smelled like her hugs.

Alas, I wanted to be on the road again, but not for her funeral...  Fare thee well, Grandma Fitzpatrick.  Rest in peace my beloved "White Rose"...

The Road Ahead...

Easy road?  What be it....
Ne'er is my road easy....
Trails and sorrows
Joys and friends.....

Ne'er has been this road easy.
Narrow road! It be mine!

Full of rocks, of sword
Of pain
Yet in the end
A crown be mine
In it's Zion land.

Simplicity.....I have hungered for it for years.....studied books.....and all.....and at last I am beginning to take the steps that way.....I realize I have to be at peace inside.....and no longer needing the decorations and stuff around me....to keep my mind at peace......but that peace comes from within and from God....now with that accomplished....I can begin the decluttering of my stuff.....peacefully.....and with joy in my work.

Seizures and Poetry...

My body continues to weaken....though the seizures are not quiet as intense now that I am not working all day in the heat.
 I should be getting in to see a doctor very soon about my seizures...keep that in prayer...I am scared.  In fact here are the dates for my appointments...
MRI the 19th
EEG the 28th
see doc (nervous system) August 9th
I hate being as weak as I am....

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Bitter torcher in my flesh,
As each night this torment doth return,
and my strength is again drained.
God of light, I thank Thee for the mercy
A loving warrior, my love to be.
I thank Thee that tis he who does now care for me.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A lone maiden wonders acrossed the misty moors,
her steps are slow and painful
her heart is heavy with sorrow.

Towards the ashen skys she lifts her head and crys,
"Is there no one to journey this road with me, my God?
Is there none who can handle tending to this princess?

To so many I am a warrior maiden,
never seeming to need there aid.
But You, my Father, know just how I really am.
For beneath this warrior's armor is an ill little girl."
She stood quietly the tears streaming down.

Twas not long before a princely knight came up beside her.
He knelt before her, "Princess, my sword is yours..."
He rose up and cradled her in his arms.
"My love, you I shall protect and tend to.
Together we shall fight the battle Our God has called us to.
I will never leave you."
The princess settled into his arms, and together the two journeyed on.

Fort Wayne, IN

Well, I am at Aunt Nel's for a while... then heading to Kansas...till I get money and license...then may haps back to Michigan.  So bad stuff happened, and I got drug into the middle of it.  All I can say, is pray for my little bro, Matt.  He is so lost right now…

It is time to let God start making a path for my life.  I must look into more schooling... and where to get the money for it.   I am praying to get to go back to Michigan... at least until I have money and some training.   Who knows... one plan changes and God opens another door. Life is so strange... but worth living.   At least GOD brings great good out of great darkness as only HE can.  I love begin a gypsy goth gal, but this road is so not easy!

On the bright side, spent yesterday with my Aunt Nel and 2nd cousins Ashley and Liz.   Got a beautiful black dress for prom alternative and stuff to go with it.  Still need gloves, a purse, and shoes, but those will come with time.

Peace...

Peace at last floods my soul.  My searching heart rests at last.  Praise GOD for His mercies, for they are new every morning.  Illness comes and goes, yet I rest in the hands of He who created me.  He is my healing balm.

Who knows what the road a head holds?  Lord, show me the journey-task!

Journey to Wisconsin - Part 2

Well, the trip to Wisconsin was awesome! Matt and I had so much fun together.  I cried after we said our final good-byes. :(  I would not trade that trip for anything.  At last I got some open road and a plan under my wings.

Even better is this sweet freedom of the soul that I thought was far beyond my reach.  I am Morria totally for the first time.  May haps I am a gypsy gal?
