To Project 12 and Chicago!

So, here we are nearly home to Tennessee after our summer at BABR...  We were resting against our bags at the St. Louis old Union Station, waiting for our bus and the call came.  "We have a room and an opening for you in P12! Can you be here by weekend of the 8-12th?"  Umm...sure.  Thankfully we packed most of our stuff BEFORE leaving for camp, as that gave us 3 days to pack and head out.  After I got off the phone, Robby and I laughed.  So the journey continues....

This gypsy queen and her pirate king have alot of prepping to do.  We have to get our camp clothing washed.  Get our linens stripped and packed.  Call a few friends from around Knoxville and say, "Good-bye." as *la sigh* we wont get a chance to see them in person before heading out.  Oh, wow, so much to think about.  Gotta go!  They just gave the call to load our bus... 12 more hours then Knoxville!

Good-Bye To Summer and BABR!

So, summer is over... I hate to see it gone.  Our bags are packed.  Tomorrow we get on the bus to head back to Knoxville, and from there a big question mark.  We dont know what is in store after summer.  This summer has had such purpose, such focus.  Our life after BABR is nothing but a question mark.  Not that I have minded... living each day focusing on the campers that has been awesome.  Now though, it is back to the "real" world so to speak.

In the morning we get on the bus to start our over 36 hr (not counting layovers) trip home.  Or at least, that was how long the trip here took... After staying put most of 2 months, it is going to be good to stretch these wings and start moving again.  Wonder where the road will take us next?

Journey to Cincinnati

Wow, just wow... We, Robby and I, are on the road to Cincinnati, OH via bus.  As the bus rolled out of the bus station and Wichita fades from view... I wondered, will I ever see you again city of my childhood?  I know most likely I will, but it will never be long term dweller in this city... I think?  We left with little warning as we had to get out before the next round of ice storms... We actually planned to leave last week, but could not pull it off.  It most likely will be a long journey... it was standing room only on the bus between Wichita to Kansas City.  It was about as packed as we headed out to St. Louis too.

So it is, Morria, the Gypsy Gal, heads off to start a life with Robby, her Pirate King... He even calls me his "Gypsy Queen"; so awesome!  The hardest part?  We had to leave nearly everything behind.  Friends, my family, stuff.... but most of all Bella, my black cat.  They wouldn't let me sneak her on the bus...  So it is, we are starting out with just a duffle bag and a carry on backpack each... and yes, my wedding dress is in one of those duffles.  Cincinnati and marriage here we come!

Never Warm Again?

Brr...Brr...Brr! I am not sure I will ever be warm again... I am nearly frozen cuddled under 5 blankets as I write this.  Ice storm, after cold ice storm has hit, and we cant get the heaters to work right inside.  So we pulled up the back up space heaters, and every blanket in the house.  The 3 cats, Bella, Miss Kitty, and Blackie, are cuddled together under the Robby's bed.  Jo made her kids join her in her room, and Robby is sleeping on the floor in his room so I can sleep in the bed... all so we can be close to the heaters.   We were suppose to leave for Cincinnati yesterday, but the roads are no good, and buses are not running.  We will get a call when we can head out.  Until then, we just bundle up and try not to freeze totally...
