My Goals - The "Bucket List"

As I was re-reading my older blogs, I rediscovered my Life Goals which I jotted down in my journal back when I graduated high school in 2001.  It was fun to see myself and my dreams for life back then, even more so... it has been amazing to see just how many I have already fulfilled without even planing!  Now that is an accomplishment, when one forgets what their own goals were, and yet still lives them out with out even trying...  ~_^

Goals for Morria's Life

  • Never stop growing closer to God.
  • Live a more natural, sustainable, eco-friendly lifestyle.

The Journey Begins...

So I find myself on the road again... Life has away of changing when we least expect it.  Life among the Navajo was awesome and I will never forget it.  But it appears that door is closing most likely for good for Robby and me.  No this is not the end of our travels and adventures.  Rather a new door is opening that we were not excepting... where and when it will be, we know not, but we trust Him to show us the path that is set out for us on this new journey-task.

In the Shadowlands...

Ministering to the hurting, outcast, misfits, and subcultures, often is a lonely thankless ministry.  Even more so if you are in an area where the views are still stuck back 30 to 50 years in the past, where misunderstandings, miscommunications, and misidentification are common place. It is often tempting to lay aside the calling God has placed on your life, and just try to blend in.  To walk away and try to fit into the mainstream, but that is like walking into a deep foggy forest without a compass...

It takes courage to come back out of that forest, pick up the compass and the Light for your path, and do what is asked of you.  Even if some close to you don't understand why you still walk in the shadowlands, you have to keep going.  It will be like a fire in the bones if you dont.  When one is not on the right path, everything is wrong, and you are miserable.  But when you find that path again, and take up your journey-task with courage, joy creeps back...

So, having learned that the hard way, as I must so many things in life.  My cut up and bruised bare feet, are back on the narrow pathway of my calling.   Am I meant to serve the outcast, broken, and wounded?  Yes!  Am I meant to minister subcultures?  Yes! Am I meant to serve in Dine Bikeyah and the Native Southwest?  Yes! Took me forever to learn that and to learn what that might even look like... Each path is diffrent, and everyones hardship diffrent.  Take heart to walk the path and do the journey take He has set before each of us.  His ways are good, even if they always remain hard.  His comfort sustains, even if enough to just make it one more day, one more step... His light is just enough.

Winds of Change...

"A task, a journey, this is to what I am called.
Always restless as flows the Celtic blood,
Always seeking that which I am to do.
Never sure of where the wind will blow,
Always knowing with You I will go.

My journey is my own,
Yet another You have sent,
For me to journey with.
Two restless Celtic souls,
With stories to be told.
Father, You and You alone,
Know what these journeys hold,
And what the journey-task it is,
So to you I cling, in these darkened days.
As I travel on Thy path."

Robby is to be more than just a friend...
I think I have found the one...
at last!

Longings...

There is soo much I could be doing, soo much my life once held.   I need to learn how to lead in the battle no matter how week my physical body is... for this battle is not against flesh and bone, but against the things in the spiritual realm that stand against God.

I find my self more and more restless... though I am not well enough to work away from home.   I awake in the middle of the night (my time of the day---not my parents or I would be up more at night.) longing for more.   I use to be so focused.  I used to be so sure of where I was headed.   Where did that go?

"God, I beg of Thee, show me what path to walk... guide me.  Return understanding to me... that I might know the meanings to that which You are showing me.   I return again to Thy Word with faithfulness, as close as a human can know...anyway.   My King, teach Thy daughter what You want of her.  Show to her the journey-task.  Amen.† "

Good Mood...

I am trying to keep in a good mood...as most likely you can tell.  It is hard some days, for at times I only have enough energy to rest on the couch, read, and talk with friends.   God is helping me.  While I'll never understand why He allows this stuff to happen... I am kinda glad He did.

Nothing like a mystery illness to drive me into His Word and prayer... because that is all I have left to cling to in this life.  My possessions mean little, money means little... the things that matter: friends, family, the Lord, the journey-task.   Those are what in this life that make it matter...

Battles...

Awake and arise oh sleeper, for the year of thy mourning has passed from thy gates!!! Arise again unto thy callings and be renewed!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Why do I feel like my soul is ripped in 2?  Everything comes against me  at once, yet I strive to hold my ground, as a good warrior.  But I am beaten to the ground, broken and crying.  Why Lord must all these things happen?  I just do not understand!  Yet still to You do I cling... what other chance of making it is there?
The tides turn, some of the battles lessen, while others do intensify... A warrior am I, and a warrior I will stay... "Oh, Father, put some balm upon my wounds that I might carry on!  Help me find the journey-task!"
Peace...
Peace at last floods my soul.  My searching heart rests at last.  Praise GOD for His mercies, for they are new every morning.  Illness comes and goes, yet I rest in the hands of He who created me.  He is my healing balm.
Who knows what the road a head holds?  Lord, show me the journey-task!
Imprisonment...
I hate this imprisonment of weakness; I hate this physical faintness. If only the strength of my childhood would return. If only, if only... Oh, what am I thinking? Things will ne’er be as they were, for my body is frail now, though a youth still am I.
Such is my lot in life, and ’tis a cross that I must bare. Would I ’twere another, yet still must I journey on, for though this be my lot, my calling is before me. By the grace of God I will do that which I am called to do.  A journey-task lies before me... tis time to find it.
Birth of a Ministry
I think I shall begin ministering in the underground, among my fellow subculture folks.  I have started a web-ministry.  I am calling it "The Chalice".  I am so excited and so nervous about this... but my heart is fulling in this.  I am ready to give my life to this, if this be my full journey-task.  Or this may be for a season, but I will give it my all until there is nothing else to give, or God moves me from this path.
Jump
A ledge, the edge, is this the end I fear?
Knowing not what lies beneath or beyond,
shall I take this step and met my rocky fate
or is there a path unseen
waiting for my first step?
Oh, fateful step of faith,
what waits for me at first step?
Life or Death?
Hope or fear?
Joy or pain?
I know not, yet still,
journey this path I must.
St. Patricks Day!
I have three favorite holidays (plus a few only a few know about), and today is one of them.  Christmas, Halloween, and St. Patrick's Day... not because of the wear'n of the green, the leprechauns, or the likes... no for the man, Patrick of Ireland, or Maewyn Succut Padriag to be exact.  He was the man who brought God's Word to my people, the Irish for the first time where it really took off.  Sure, a few had come before, and there were some believers among the slaves... but it was with Patrick that it took hold in the upper classes as well.   He was a man who was first a slave of the Irish people, found his freedom, then risked his life returning to them to share the Gospel... that is true love and faith... they could have killed him on the spot for being a runaway slave...
His witness, and becoming one of those whom he was sent to (no one remembers for sure where he came from, but everyone remembers him among the Irish)... so completely he called them his people... is inspiration for me...
"O, God,  might I be like that on my journey-task! Amen!"
Life...
 What do I make of life?  What are my dreams and goals?  Where do I want to go from here?   These  are the questions that have been swimming around in my head... Not just because I am now 18 (and freaked out on my birthday... unsure where the path after high school goes)... but because I need to start making plans.  High school ends in just months... I am not really sure where to go from here.  My bike will only get me so far, and I have no job, no insurance, and only a dream in my heart.
There has to be a journey-task out there for m me... something God made me to do.  Or maybe it works like this: maybe there is a different journey-task for each season of our lives.  How should I know, but I sure do hope to find out soon!
"Sing the song of the journey today,
Sing the song of the days to come,
Sing the song of adventure before,
Sing the song of hope and joy,
Sing the song of my life!'   ~ MMH/MMN - 2001
