Seeds!

I found seeds!  Walked into Whole Foods  in Tempe, AZ, and what stands before me in the seed section but a display by but a display by Native Seed/Search!  At last I live where my favorite seed company actually sells in store.  Now mind you certain plants I am looking for they don't have, and certain seeds from Native Seed/Search I will have to order as not sold in store.  But a lot I can get right near by.  So happy!

Why am I so big on Native Seed/Search?  For many reasons, among them the fact that they are gathering and protecting Heritage Seeds, Native to the Southwest (and some other Native Tribes).  These seeds are drought hardy, and very hard to kill off.    Another reason is as they say @ NativeSeeds.Org, "We are a nonprofit organization working to strengthen food security in the Greater Southwest by conserving our region's unique crop diversity and teaching others to do the same."  This is something I can get behind.

Desert Refuge Ministry

As Robby and I are not leaving the desert, and we made commitments to our supporting Churches to not leave the Desert Southwest and native ministry until we retire. except for support raising or family health emergencies (short-term), we are seeking a new church to partner with.  As well as that, we are working on putting together a ministry which for now we have dubbed "Desert Refuge Ministry".  How and where God will grow this is still beyond us, but this is what we feel He is leading us to do...  So we will begin praying and seeking where He is leading us for the future.

"Bardic Circle"

Today our friends the Grover's hosted a "Bardic Circle".  This weeks theme was Native Drum Circle, Aaron was there for it of course, as were many of our other gypsy, goth, subculture, traveler, and nomadic friends.  As we began to share music, songs, and stories, my heart began to cry.  What are we doing here?  Our hearts for helping other people, maybe living in Dine Bikeyah, but not in the city here.  It hurt to much, but now I realize I cannot put the open road and ministering to fellow outcasts out of my mind or heart.  Tis in there just too deep.

What now?  I dont know what this means for the future... I dont know what roads this means we will go down.  But I do know that it means Chicago is not the end point, but just a stop on the trail...

We are here in Chicago for until at least next August or September, and after that I have even less clue where we shall journey.  God, You have to be in this, because I have no clue what You are up to here...
