Raining!

It is raining, and has off and on for the last few days!  My heart is so happy.  I have always loved the rain, but even more so after we moved to the desert.  To feel its cool wetness upon the skin, tis really a blessing from God!  I just love nights like tonight, when the rain comes, and everything is cool, damp, and beautiful again.  Tis truly a blessings to be enjoyed!

Childless...

I am barren.  This means I am childless, and most likely will be for all time (unless God steps in).  This has been a bitter pill to swallow, especially as all my gal friends start their families.  One of the things I have longed for the most in my life, was to be a mother, and to raise little ones of my own. I am overjoyed for them, and wish them and their little ones nothing but joy and blessings.  Yet, has made me face the facts head on, and come to place of peace and acceptance with them...

For a time I thought working with children in the Church would be a balm to my soul, but, alas, it only made the pain worse.  So, I have stepped down from work with children, at least under the age of middle school... It is not that I dont like to be around others children, working with them in a class long term is just torture.  For now, unless we adopt - which we need a home and more income first -, there will never be a Zahena Sylvaina, Zeke Patrick, Bryan Matthias, or Mahala Lillie in our lives...
And for once I can say, I am becoming okay with that... sure, it is a change in plans from what I had for 30+ years, but I am okay with it... as this journey goes along, we will just see where it takes us....

Fellow Gypsy Gal..

Today, there was a fellow gypsy gal, standing on the curb at the edge of Walmart. As is my custom, I went into the store and bought a bottle of icy cold water for her.  Sadly, today I was out of food bars in my purse, having just finished a trip moving east, and not having had a chance to replenish as of yet.  Then I ran back out to her, in my good clothing from my job interview.  My turquoise necklace pounded on my chest as did my sliver Celtic cross, but I had to get back to her, as the day is so hot and humid in this Kentucky late summer weather.  I handed her the bottle of cold water, and she smiled, "A cup of cold water in My name.  God bless you!"

How often do we over look blessings because we fear strangers?  It makes me think of the old Celtic Christian blessing/proverb.  "May there always be food in the eating place, may there always be drink in the drinking place.  May there always be music in the listening place.  May there always be a bed in the sleeping place.  For, oft, oft, oft, goes Christ about in stranger's garb."  Please my friends consider how you to might aid other gypsies, vagabonds, and travelers.  Blessings!

Where is Home?

I am home yet not.  Strange how one can live house for almost 18 years, and in a short time though still you dwell there in, it is no longer home.  I love my room, but I know soon this ne're again will be my home.

How I long for the open road... a journey... an adventure.  Even a short bike ride would be a blessing right now.  To feel the wind in my hair, and see the cares of the day slip away from me... to have that freedom... if even for a few moments... blissfulness!

Enter Matt

Matt, my dear friend and "little brother" from the New Orleans trip has entered into a more key place in my journey.  As of today we are e-mailing and calling each other alot.   He makes me laugh, and not many people can do that.  It is good to add a little "bro" to the clan, now if only we can grow larger...  a family dies if it does not grow and expand.

Note to self: Bev and Deirdrea are so much alike in what they talk about are interested in, and their vocabulary, do not call them back to back, or even on the same day!  For the life of me, I couldn't keep straight who I was talking to... and I have known Deirdrea since her birth, and Bev since only I was 15.  But it is a relief to have gals to talk with, too. It is such a blessing to have good friends like Matt, Deirdrea, and Bev in my life!
