Train Hoppers and Romance

Just down the street from us lives another house of gypsies of sorts.  It is owned by a young woman who is "retired" from train hopping due to no longer being able to.  She takes in fellow young women who are train hoppers, gives them a place to stay, job references, and helps them get on their feet until they can or want to catch the next train.  After learning that our goal was to do much the same thing, but for a broader circle than she was focusing on... Megan invited us over for some snacks and just to hang out. The food, tne music, and the company was good, but  Robby and I did not stay for too long though, because we had alot on our minds.

Earlier tonight, before we went to Megan's, we had been to Zao Fellowship, and ate at Red Robin's with them afterwards.  I was being left out of all the conversations... and shot Barq's Root Beer threw a straw at Robby... flirting. I guess.  Well, conversation and feelings between us was growing... now awakened. So, we are going to explore this... and see if just maybe 13 years is not to big of a gap for two gypsies to cross for love...

Free Bricks!

Jo and I were coming home from work today when we saw them.  Piles and piles of old bricks.  Most were of Gallup Brick make, most likely came up the Santa Fe Railroad back in the day.  We asked the foreman at the site what they were going to do with them.  He said, "Pay to have them haled off.  Take as much as you can.  The more you take the less we pay."  So we filled up the car, drove home, unloaded them, and returned again. In all we took 2 and 1/2 car loads of bricks.  Enough to line the garden with real Victorian era bricks....  Awesome!

Meet Bella, my Cat!

Bella joined the family of gypsies at Didean today... she is a black 1/2 Persian cat, and is small enough to ride in Robby's fedora hat which I have now "stolen".  We had been seeing Bella and her siblings for a while, when we walk to the low income family diner.  Today, they were old enough to take one home!  What a purrfect Adoption Day gift Robby has gotten me.  Soon she will have a collar and her shots, and all will be well for her.  I am so happy!  At last I have my black cat!

New House and Grounds Keeper!

I signed the papers today!   The 2 story Victorian house officially becomes my "Didean", the refuge, safe haven, and shelter for travelers and subculture folks.  It is really 2 stories plus a fixable attic and a half finished basement...so LOTS of room to explore and make my own.  Who knows what adventures lay before me in this awesome place?  First off, getting it furnished and repainted.  That will be an adventure in and off its self!  SOOOOOO Excited!

Well, who should be waiting for me on the steps of Didean when I get there, than my first traveler!  Robby has come to stay for the next little bit, as a grounds keeper for Didean, and someone to keep an eye on it when I am not there.  Awesome!   Also, whew... He is such an over sized, bald, teddy bear... I could never fall for him.  After all he is 13 years my elder, and just NOT my type.  LOL!  Good to have grounds keep I can trust, though.

I think I found it...

I think I found it today... I had today off, and went hunting for my forever home.  I had pulled up about 10 house in my price range.  5 of them were too bad in disrepair.  2 had sold between when I looked and we went hunting, and that left 3 to chose from... The one I am leaning towards for my "Didean" is a 2 story with basement and attic that needs a stair way rebuilt.  Time will only tell if I get her... my dream house.

Grandmother's Passing

*sobs hard*  My grandma went home to be with the Lord today.   She was the last of my grandparents.  Now all the elders are gone.  I miss her so much.  I went into my room and rubbed her lotion on my arms, for her skin always smelled of it.  It smelled like her hugs.

Alas, I wanted to be on the road again, but not for her funeral...  Fare thee well, Grandma Fitzpatrick.  Rest in peace my beloved "White Rose"...
